There Is No Recession!
All I have to say is: There Is No Recession! Shima on a Monday night was fully packed out, with only one teppanyaki table free (and even that one had 2 persons sitting at it). With set menus starting at $80/head, this isn’t exactly a cheap eat!.

I just had a fantastic lunch at shima today!
I just had a fantastic lunch at shima today! We took the buffet lunch priced at $39.90 per person and I would say it was totally worth the buck AND the calories. (heh)..
Our Sake Specialist, Kazuhiro Kinoshita, would advise on what sake goes best with your choice of food.
Located at Goodwood Park Hotel since 1980, this traditional Japanese restaurant not only serves traditional Japanese food such as shshimi & intricated side dishes but also mondern Japanese cuisine such as Teppanyaki and also only specially selected air-flown seafood from Japan rarely found in other Japanese restaurants in Singapore.
The odd thing here is that 'special' actually means special.
While Shima continues to draw loyal customers and win new ones with its renowned teppanyaki dishes, the sushi, sashimi, tempura and shabu shabu items are worth a try also. The odd thing here is that ‘special’ actually means special, rather than the standard usage elsewhere, where it means ‘I’ve got some fish that’s rapidly going off’. This can be rather scary and confusing, but the chef’s special sashimi selection should calm your nerves: it includes only the best fish available on the day and is a real treat.
